The Everyman is a trio of three guitarists who've got a few songs and a lot of energy. Chris Ford and Jeff MacAdams began singing together a few years back with Jeff on guitar to mimic their favorite artists of the time, folk-rockers like Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Bob Dylan, and Cat Stevens. Early songwriting attempts failed to please anyone but the duo themselves.
When Jeff's dreams of carniedom separated the two, Chris decided to learn guitar on his own to accompany his singing. After a half-year or so of dedicated playing and practice, Chris again turned his hand to songwriting.
Again, his songs were terrible. But after a weak academic performance and some serious self-examination, Ford began to attack songwriting from a dark rock perspective, and when he played his songs for his brother Don, a much more capable guitarist, the two found a natural rhythym and began to turn the material into the folk-rock style that would come to identify The Everyman.
Jeff's return home after the carnival marked the first jam session of The Everyman, which all agreed was "the coolest thing ever." The terrible trio continues to churn out dark blends of folk-rock and acoustic jam tunes, and has been known to cover bands like The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and Oasis. Look for the band to play at small coffee houses and open mic nights for now, but in a couple years or so they'll be all over the country. And they live in Canada. That's a pretty big place to be all over.
